Disco Death May 2012

About Disco Death

Disco Death is a monthly nightclub event that takes place in Chengdu, China. It was started by a pair of Americans who’ve been in China for years, performing everywhere from Hong Kong to Tibet. For a decade, there haven’t been any notable DJ oriented nightlife events in Chengdu, a city of eight million. We are changing that.
The name Disco Death is a reference to the nightclub mainstays of Mainland China, called discos. We spent years performing in commercial clubs across China that have thrived off the business of dice rolling patrons who’s nightlife culture is hearing happy birthday techno remixes. It’s time for that to change.

Location of Xiong Mao Club

Disco Death is hosted at Xiong Mao (熊猫 – which means “Panda” in Chinese) in the newly constructed East Chengdu Music Park. If you’re arriving by taxi, this will get you to the Music Park’s front gate: 到成都东区音乐公园.
Once you arrive at the main gate of the Music Park, walk straight for about 100 meters until you see a 7-11 on the left: that’s where you turn right. You should see the white Xiong Mao letters above the venue in front of you.
